I was freaked out when I GOOGLED myself and found this online; Obituary Overview Kenneth O'Brien KENNETH (KEN) O'BRIEN It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth “Ken” O'Brien, who was born February 11, 1952, in Ottawa and passed away at his home in Kingston on Saturday, February 21, 2026. He was 74. Ken was predeceased by his father, Richard, born in the United Kingdom, who passed when Ken was a teenager, and by his mother, Rachael (née Bell), who was born in Ontario and whose family farmed on Division Street in North Kingston for many years. He was also predeceased by his siblings Elizabeth Pattison (Robert) and Richard (Carolyn). Ken is survived by his sister, Marilyn (Tom) Reichert of British Columbia, and by his nieces and nephews: Tom Pattison, Pernell Reichert, Darin O’Brien, Sara (Reichert) Wiltse, and Jonathan Reichert. Ken was previously married to Lynne, who will miss him dearly. Ken was a longtime and dedicated employee of Bell Canada. He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid boater for many years, and accrued many medals for running. Ken shared many happy years with his beloved dog and faithful companion, Jovi, whose constant presence brought him comfort and companionship. Quiet and intelligent by nature, Ken lived a more private life in his more recent years. He will be missed by his longtime friends Russ and Wendy Harrington, and Pete and Cheryl Dermann. In keeping with Ken’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Interment will occur in the spring at Cataraqui Cemetery.
