The modern 164-bed, seven story acute care hospital provides quality patient care with individual inpatient rooms, state-of-the-art treatment rooms, and enhanced diagnostics systems. The hospital design has single inpatient rooms with a spacious accessible washroom. The layout allows for patient and family privacy while improving infection prevention and control. The geothermal field is approximately 600 feet below the hospital’s parking lot, and provides 100 per cent of the ground source geothermal heating for the hospital – the largest solution of its kind for a health care facility in North America. With efficiency and cost-savings at the forefront, this groundbreaking system provides approximately 12 per cent total cost savings over the life span of 30 years.
