Requisitioning A Vacant Building - CBC Bldg (2)
PG wants to requisition the vacant CBC Bldg to turn it into 1. Corner Brook Computers and 2. Corner Brook Camp/Campers. This would be a place where people would be able to park/store their valuable 5th Wheels as well as serve as a state of the art internet Cafe with a Boardwalk/Starwell to the best view of the West Coast of Newfoundland;
As per Canadian Law, you cannot legally just take or "requisition" an abandoned building because almost all property is owned by someone, a bank, or the city. Entering or occupying a building without permission is illegal and true ownership must be researched through municipal assessment rolls or tax records to pursue a legal purchase, tax sale, or formal transfer.Steps to Legally Acquire a PropertyFind the owner: Search municipal assessment databases, tax roll records, or registry of deeds. Make contact: Reach out to the registered owner, corporate holder, or financial institution to offer a purchase.Check tax arrears: Ask the local municipal office if the property owes back taxes, which can lead to a municipal tax lien sale.Clear titles: Ensure all past debts, liens, and environmental hazards are resolved before taking occupancy.If you have a specific property in mind, tell me the city or town it is located in, and I can help you find out how to look up local municipal property records.
I am thinking of REQUISITIOING the old vacant boarded up CBC Builing and turning it into a WW3 Survival HQ.
Stay tuned....
PG
