To get Canadian citizenship as an adult, 1. you must be a permanent resident, 2. live in Canada for 1,095 days (3 years) out of the 5 years before you apply, 3. file your taxes for 3 years, 4. prove language skills in English or French (if 18 to 54), 5. pass a test, and 6. take the oath. Core Requirements a. Permanent Resident Status: You must hold valid PR status and not have any immigration or fraud investigations. b.
