Jared Kushner is currently Mr Trump’s special envoy for peace, in which he acts as a key intermediary on US diplomatic negotiations, most notably with the Middle East and Russia. The Kushner brothers’ father, Charles Kushner, was appointed as the US ambassador to France and Monaco by Mr Trump last summer. The property developer was convicted in 2005 of illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, and witness tampering, and was sentenced to two years in a federal prison camp.
